Kazakhstan to provide transit for Italian forces from Afghanistan.

Kazakh and Italian Defense Ministries signed an intergovernmental agreement on providing transit for Italian military equipment and personnel through the territory of Kazakhstan. This is another country which signed agreement on transit with Kazakhstan. One of the main transit point will become airport in Shymkent which will be modernized by France as part of the deal. The agreements indicate Kazakhstan's importance for the mission in Afghanistan.
