By bne IntelliNews March 26, 2012
The agreement on transformation of Eurasian Economic Cooperation into Eurasian Economic union was not signed at the summit in Moscow due to opposition from Kazakhstan, according to Belarusian president Alexandr Lukashenko. According to him, Kazakhstan urged not to speed up the process as agreement to create the union was scheduled for 2015. Significantly, Russia pursues economic integration process within EurAsEC but Kazakhstan is in fact against accession of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to the union due to their political weakness.
