For a second night in a row, Iranian air defences across the country have attempted to strike back at Israeli rocket attacks across the country.
Heavy air defence activity has been recorded close to Pasteur Street, where the Presidential and Supreme Leader’s offices are located, in what appears to be a targeted attack on the area by Israel.
Israel on June 13 repeatedly struck several Iranian military sites, apartments, defensive positions and airfields as it continues to stop any possible Iranian response to its initial nights attacks with killed several top military commanders and nuclear scientists including the head of the armed forces and Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).
Iranian officials reported 18 deaths and 35 wounded in Tabriz, while multiple explosion sounds were heard as far away as Qazvin, according to some local reports.
Separately, residents reported hearing multiple loud explosion sounds in Mohammadshahr, Karaj, and around Pakdasht in southeast Tehran province.
Khabar Online reported three to four intense sounds in Karaj neighbourhoods, whilst traffic continued normally in affected areas.
Some speculation attributed the Tehran area sounds to air defence activity in the Parchin region, but no official sources confirmed the reports.
Local authorities refrained from immediate explanations, stating only that investigations were ongoing.
The Iranian media platforms published a lengthy statement condemning what it called a "false and child-killing regime" and declaring that "whoever remains silent in this campaign or walks step by step with the enemy is undoubtedly a traitor."
Provincial authorities requested residents follow news from reliable official sources and promised further updates on the attacks would be provided.
