Iranian Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi said Iran's intelligence apparatus has "complete oversight" of US and Israeli targets in the region and knows the location of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's meetings on March 3.

"We know the location of Netanyahu's meetings and our intelligence database is complete," Safavi said in a state televised interview.

Safavi, who served as IRGC commander-in-chief from 1997 to 2007, said Trump had become "a pawn in Netanyahu's hands" and was sacrificing American interests for Israel.

He said many US politicians were questioning why American taxpayers' money and soldiers' lives should be spent in the service of Israel.

The senior military figure said Iran had anticipated a further attack following the 12-day war with Israel in June 2025 and had used the intervening period to increase its offensive missile and drone capabilities "tenfold" while pursuing diplomacy.

Safavi claimed the US-Israeli operation was based on a "flawed strategic assessment" that Iran had been weakened by the earlier conflict, and said the strikes had hit buildings that had already been evacuated of personnel and equipment.

"They are destroying empty buildings with no forces, no guards and no Basij members inside," he said.

The adviser said the goals of the US-Israeli campaign, regime change, the break-up and subjugation of Iran, would not be achieved, and expressed confidence that the Assembly of Experts would soon select a successor to Ayatollah Khamenei following the formation of the temporary Leadership Council.

Iran has previously targeted the Israeli Prime Minister's home in the last 12-day war in 2025 outside of Jerusalem, along with other key individuals in his administration at the time.

The previous target severely damaged his home. His family were reportedly outside of Israel in the US. Recent reports also state that his family is currently outside the country.

Iranian state agencies and their proxies have repeatedly targeted Israeli individuals, including diplomats, tourists, businesspeople and community members, mainly outside Israel, for several decades.
