Intesa Sanpaolo says Q1 net income of Albanian unit drops to EUR 3mn.

The Albanian unit of Italys Intesa Sanpaolo Bank posted a first-quarter net income of EUR 3mn, the parent group said in a statement. The net income stood at EUR 6mn a year earlier. The Albanian banks Jan-March operating income fell by 0.7% on the year to EUR 10mn. Operating costs declined by 1% y/y over the period to EUR 4mn. The operating margin edged down by 0.4% y/y to EUR 6mn. Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania is the third-largest lender in the country in terms of assets, preceded only by Raiffeisen Albania and Turkish-owned National Commercial Bank.
