An investigation is ongoing after a Bentley car hit Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic's motorcade on September 2, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Affairs Nebojsa Stefanovic told Tanjug on September 3.
Stefanovic said that three people have been taken into custody and pre-investigative actions have begun. However, according to the minister, right now there are no indications or proof that the president was a target of an attack.
The accident occurred on September 2 at around 8:20am, in the Topcider district of Belgrade.
“[E]very single detail will be investigated and it will reveal all important facts related to this case,” Stefanovic told Tanjug.
There are no indications or media speculations that the incident is related to terrorism.
Prior to Stefanovic’s confirmation to Tanjug, Daily Politika reported on September 3 that Vucic’s motorcade was rammed by black Bentley with the number plate Е3562 HLN which was driven by a Luka R. He was accompanied by Milos T. and Stevan D. The three men work as security in one popular Belgrade discotheque and the car was borrowed from a football player, the daily said. The footballer has not been named.
