The average net monthly wage in Croatia shrank by a real 1.5% on the year to HRK 5,406 (EUR 722) in October 2011, the statistics office said. In nominal terms, the October net wage reported an annual increase of 1%, the office said in a statement. On a monthly basis, the average net wage went up by a nominal 0.2% and dropped by a real 0.4%. October net wages rose most in nominal terms in mining and quarrying, by 8.1% on the month, and in agriculture, forestry and fishing, by 5.5% on the month. October average gross wage went up by an annual 1.2% in nominal terms and dropped by 1.3% on the year in real terms to HRK 7,744.
