Bulgarias state energy commission has approved a 9.14% raise in the heating price for Sofia, according to the decision of the regulator published on its website. The growth rate of the heating tariffs ranges from slightly more than zero in Kazanlak to almost 12% in Razgrad. The upward corrections in heating prices are based on a cumulative 17.62% natural gas price increase since end-2011, including 4.37% as of Jan 1 and 12.73% as of Apr 1. Recently, head of the commission Angel Semerdzhiev said he did not expect rising prices of natural gas and heating of Jul 1, 2012 as tariffs would already too high by then.
