Israel will continue to protect its interests amid US-Iran peace negotiations, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed, as Iranian missiles struck multiple sites across central Israel on March 23.

US President Donald Trump announced a five-day suspension of planned strikes on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure, stating on social media that the US and Iran had held "very good and productive conversations" over the preceding two days aimed at achieving a "complete and total resolution" of the conflict.

"We will safeguard our vital interests under all circumstances," Netanyahu affirmed in a public address, confirming that Israel will continue striking both Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon until Washington reaches an agreement considered aligned with Israeli interests.

"We are continuing to strike in both Iran and Lebanon. We are smashing the missile program and the nuclear program, and we continue to deal severe blows to Hezbollah. Just a few days ago, we eliminated two more nuclear scientists, and we are still active," Netanyahu continued.

The Israeli prime minister’s insistence on sustained military pressure indicates a divergence from Trump’s shift toward diplomacy, suggesting potential friction in US-Israeli coordination as Washington prioritises de-escalation and Jerusalem maintains its strike campaign.

At least six people were injured in a strike on Tel Aviv, the national ambulance service Magen David Adom confirmed. Footage and photographs released by MDA showed significant building damage, with cars catching fire from the impact. Meanwhile, the IDF struck Al-Ghassaniyah in southern Lebanon early this morning, with operations continuing on both the Iranian and Lebanese fronts.
