Uzbekistan’s sole major automaker UzAuto Motors suspended sales of its Chevrolet Cobalt, Lacetti and Damas models one day after resuming sales.
UzAuto said that from August 4 to August 5 after the sales resumption, an additional offered batch of Cobalt, Lacetti and Damas cars was fully contracted, with more than 50,000 purchase contracts signed.
The batch was manufactured following the modernisation of production lines and efforts to raise the operational efficiency of the UzAuto plant.
In December last year, UzAuto Motors suspended the sales contracting of its Cobalt, Lacetti-Gentra, Damas and Labo models.
It blamed ongoing interruptions in the production of semiconductors and supply issues with components, along with "geopolitical tensions."
