Serbia plans to allocate a total of RSD 1bn in subsidies in support of housing construction in 2011, Beta news agency reported, citing Nemanja Komazec, state secretary with the environment and spatial planning ministry. According to Komazec, the subsidies will be extended to construction companies and investors in housing construction. The state plans to subsidize up to 8% of the annual interest rate on housing construction loans, Komazec explained. In order to be eligible for state subsidies, construction companies will have to agree to sell housing at regulated prices. In 2010, the state subsidies extended in support of housing construction amounted to RSD 1.5bn. |
