Philippines Overseas workers remittance gained 7.6% y/y to USD 1.797bn in August this year, which is higher than the USD 1.670bn posted during the same period last year. As reported by Dow Jones Global Equities News, the same gained 5.5% y/y to USD 13.733bn for the first eight months of this year, higher than the USD 13.021bn posted during the same period last year. The nations remittances are expected to grow 5% this year, from USD 20.12bn posted last year.
