New government officials appointed in Kazakhstan.

By bne IntelliNews April 13, 2011
New ministers in the Kazakh government were appointed by Kazakh president Nursultan Nazarbayev. Kairat Kelimbetov was appointed minister of economic development, replacing Zhanar Aitzhanova. Prior to the appointment, Kelimbetov was head of the national sovereign fund SamrukKazyna. Chairman of KazAgro Asylzhan Mamytbekov became minister of agriculture replacing Akylbek Kurishbayev. Moreover, new foreign minister became Yerzhan Kazykhanov who so far was deputy foreign minister. The latest change is probably connected with the fact that Kazakhstan chairs Islamic Conference Organization this year while the new minister speaks Arabic. Apart from that, Berik Kamaliyev became new minister to transport and communication. Prior to the appointment, Kamaliyev was deputy minister of industry and new technologies.
