Lithuanian retail sales showed the highest growth rate in December among all the 27 EU member states, Eurostat announced. Lithuanian retail sales grew by 13% y/y in December. Latvian retail sales grew by 7.1% y/y in December, which put Latvia in the second place. The UK retail sales growth stood at 6.3% y/y in December and ranked 3rd according to growth. Estonia stood 4th, with growth rate of 6.1% y/y. Across the EU retail sales increased by 0.3% y/y in December on average. In m/m terms Lithuanian retail sales declined by 1.3% m/m, Latvian declined by 2.0% m/m, and Estonian increased by 0.5% m/m. |
