Hungarys unemployment rate edged down to 10.6% in September to November 2011 from 10.8% in the three months to October, the statistics office said. A year ago the rate stood at 10.7%. The number of unemployed decreased to 460,000 in September-November from 467,600 in the August-October period. The share of long-term unemployed decreased as well and stood at 46.9%. The number of employed Hungarians, on the other hand, increased to 3.835mn from 3.828mn. Hungarys statistics office does not publish monthly data on unemployment, because of the high level of error and it calculates the unemployment as a moving three-month average instead.
