German Bosch Group to start building EUR 70mn plant in Serbia in July.

German technology supplier Bosch Group said it will start building a car wiper systems manufacturing plant in the northern Serbian town of Pecinci, in which it will invest some EUR 70mn until 2019, news agency Beta reported. Robert Bosch director general for Serbia, Jovanka Jovanovic, told reporters in Belgrade that the construction was due to begin in March but was delayed because the project has not been completed on time. The company now has all necessary permits and will definitely launch the first project phase in July, Jovanovic said, adding manufacturing is expected to start in the beginning of 2013. In the first phase of the project, Bosch will build a production unit on an area of 22,000 square metres and employ 60 workers. The second construction stage in start in 2016 and until 2019 the factory employ 620, Jovanovic said. She added that the turnover of Bosch Group in Serbia and Montenegro rose 9% last year to EUR 24mn. Bosch Group representatives and the Serbian government signed a framework agreement on the project on December 1. The new plant will be called Robert Bosch Belgrade. The Bosch Group comprises Robert Bosch GmbH and its more than 350 subsidiaries and regional companies in over 60 countries. Bosch is represented in some 150 countries together with its sales and service partners. Its areas of automotive and industrial technology, consumer goods, and building technology generated sales of EUR 47.3mn in 2010.
