Consumer price index (CPI) inflation in Uzbekistan in June was 9.03% y/y and -0.29% m/m, according to national statistical committee data.
The annual figure is the lowest seen in 12 months.
Inflation in the year to date (to end-June) stood at a five-year-low of 3.45%, equating to an average increase of 0.57% per month. In the same period last year, it was 6.5%.
In the three main categories of food, non-food products and services, June prices fell by around 0.3%, compared to 1.1% in May.
Among food products, prices for rice (2.8%), soft drinks (1.3%), meat (1.1%), fish (0.8%) and sugar (0.7%) rose the most in June. Vegetables fell in price by an average of 13.8%, fruits and nuts by 2.3% and oils and fats by 1.3%.
Manufactured goods inflation stood at 3.1% for January to June and 7.9% y/y.
Fuels in June rose by an average of 2.2%, with propane inflation 0.7%.
Medicine prices moved up 0.5% in the month and were higher by 16.6% y/y.
