The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it carried out a new precision strike on Beirut, Lebanon, early Wednesday morning, in an escalation of regional tensions.
"The Israel Defense Forces conducted a precision strike on Beirut," the IDF said in a statement on its official Telegram channel, adding that more details would be provided later.
This strike follows an earlier Israeli air attack on a building in Damascus, Syria, which reportedly killed three people and wounded three others, according to the IDF.
The attacks come amid rising tensions in the Middle East, following Iran's unprecedented missile barrage against Israel earlier this week and ongoing conflicts in the region.
Israel has not yet provided information on the specific targets or the extent of damage caused by the Beirut strike.
The Lebanese government and Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militant group that holds significant influence in southern Lebanon, have not immediately commented on the reported strike.
Hezbollah linked Al-Manar reported that Israeli aircraft launches three raids on southern suburbs of Beirut.
These military actions raise concerns about a potential wider conflict in the region, as various powers become increasingly entangled in overlapping disputes.
