Hungary's digital TV subscriptions pick up 0.5% m/m in June 2012.

Hungarys digital TV market expanded further in June 2012 as the number of subscriptions increased by 0.5% m/m to 1.75mn, the communications watchdog informed. The statistics include data from the country's 11 biggest digital TV providers that account for around 88% of the market. Digital TV users accounted for more than half of the overall domestic TV market. The improvement in June was again on the back of a growth in the number of digital subscribers with cable or IPTV connections - up by 10,913 to 758,913. On the other hand, subscribers in the wireless connections category declined by 2,639 m/m to 924,361 as of end-June. Regarding the market share distribution, the market leader UPC boosted its share to 26.8%, ahead of DIGI with a 23.2% share, closely followed by T-Home, holding a share of 22.8%.
