Kazakhstan to allocate USD 130mn in construction Beynau-Samsonovka gas route.

Kazakhstan will allocate KZT 19.1bn (USD 130mn) from the state budget for the construction of the Beynau-Bozoy-Samsonovka gas pipeline in 2011, FinMin Bolat Zhamishev has said at the regular government meeting. To remind you, the construction of the gas pipeline was officially launched in late 2010. The pipeline is designed for transportation of natural gas from western Kazakhstan to the southern regions of the country which are presently supplied from Uzbekistan. The route will be also used for export of Kazakh gas to China. The length of the pipeline is 1500km and total cost of the project is USD 3.6bn. Significantly, recently Kazakhstan and China agreed to raise the capacity of the Kazakh section of Central Asia China gas pipeline from 30bn m3 to 55bn m3.
