Kazakhstan and Germany sign agreements worth USD 4bn.

Kazakhstan and Germany signed agreements worth USD 4bn on cooperation in raw materials sector, industry and technology. The countries signed around 50 accords.The list includes an agreement between Kazakhstan's state railway company and Siemens that will open a way for the renovation and upgrade of the rail network. Small other deals involving German industrial gases group Linde, chemicals group Lanxess and steel firm ThyssenKrupp were also included in the list. German chancellor Angela Merkel noted that the trade ties between the countries should be tied. Significantly, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Germany increased by 20% y/y to EUR 6.3bn. Kazakhstan perceives Germany as its main partner in the EU and perspective source of know and technology.
