Iran halts strikes on Israel after 'painful response' over Lebanon, commander says

An Israeli-US airstrike hit the commercial dock at Bandar Lengeh on Iran's southern coast, destroying at least 16 cargo boats belonging to local residents, the town's governor said, Tasnim reported on March 20.
The boats, which served as the primary livelihood for sailors and residents of Bandar Lengeh and nearby Bandar Kong, were completely burned in the attack. Images from the scene showed extensive destruction and fires across the dock.
Bandar Lengeh is a small port town on the Strait of Hormuz in Hormozgan province, historically known as a centre for traditional dhow trade with Dubai and other Gulf ports. The boats targeted were civilian cargo vessels, not military craft, the governor said.
The strike on a commercial fishing and trading dock far from known military infrastructure follows a pattern of escalating attacks on civilian sites across Iran.
More than 206 students and teachers have been killed and 120 schools damaged since the war began on February 28, according to Iran's education ministry.
Strikes have hit villages in East Azerbaijan, oil depots serving civilian areas in Tehran, and sports complexes across the country.
