Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps has claimed it shot down a US MQ-9 Reaper drone over Shiraz, struck a US F-16 fighter jet over southern Fars province, and destroyed a Ukrainian anti-drone system depot in Dubai during a major wave of missile and drone strikes, Tasnim News Agency reported on March 28.

The IRGC said during wave 85 of Operation True Promise 4, its aerospace and naval forces struck several heavy industrial facilities belonging to what it described as "American-Zionist" targets in occupied territories and other locations.

The F-16 was struck over southern Fars province and destroyed before it could land, the IRGC said, adding that US Central Command had issued a statement acknowledging the strike and total damage to the aircraft. The MQ-9 Reaper was downed by IRGC air defence fire over Shiraz.

Simultaneously, the spokesman for the IRGC's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said a depot of Ukrainian anti-drone systems in Dubai, present to assist US military forces, was destroyed in a combined operation by IRGC aerospace and naval forces. The spokesman said 21 Ukrainian personnel were at the site at the time and had probably been killed, though he said their fate remained unconfirmed.

The IRGC said enemy aircraft had attempted to target Iranian launch platforms during the operation but were repelled.

The Corps warned Washington that attacks on Iranian industrial targets would be met with escalating responses.

"We had warned the imprudent rulers of America that we would retaliate against attacks on industrial targets. This attack was only a warning. If attacks on industries are repeated, our next response will be beyond your imagination," the IRGC statement said.

None of the claims could be independently verified. Neither the US, Ukrainian nor UAE governments had confirmed the strikes at the time of publication.
