Uzbektelecom has announced a cost reduction for ISP internet connections and operators accessing its switch centre to UZS 30,000 ($2.81) for 1 Mbit/s.

Compared to September last year, the price is down by 46.4%. Since 2018, the cost of the services has decreased by more than eightfold.

At the end of 2020, Uzbektelecom carried out an expansion of its backbone and multiservice data transmission networks. As a result, the capacity of the network for regional and district centres expanded by up to four times.

By the end of 2021, the operator plans to lay more than 50,000km of fibre-optic communication lines in Uzbekistan.
