Ukraine registers PPI deflation of 1.6% y/y in June.

Ukraine registered PPI deflation of 1.6% y/y in June, the State Statistics Service announced. Industrial prices fell by 2.7% m/m, mainly due to the reduction in the cost of electricity, gas, steam and conditioned air supplies by 8.7%.

In H1, industrial prices grew by 3.7%. Prices increased the most in the crude petroleum and natural gas extraction sector - up by 12% y/y. Mining and quarrying prices contracted by 0.9% y/y in June.

Manufacturing prices declined by 2.1% y/y, mainly due to 12.5% y/y decrease in manufacturing of coke oven products. Manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment prices went down by 8% y/y.

The prices in distribution of utilities gas and water industry declined by 1.4% y/y in June.
