Slovenian industrial production continued to weaken in December 2025, falling by 4.1% year on year after a 0.9% decline recorded in November (chart), the statistics office said on February 10.
On an annual basis, output increased only in mining and quarrying, where production rose by 2.5%. This was offset by a sharper contraction in manufacturing, which declined by 4.6%, and a 1.4% drop in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply.
Month on month, industrial production decreased by 1.4% in December. Output fell across all major sectors, declining by 1.9% in mining and quarrying, 1.8% in manufacturing, and 1.7% in the energy supply segment.
For the full year 2025, Slovenia’s industrial production was down by 1.8%.
Industrial turnover also weakened. Compared with November, total turnover fell by 3.2%, driven by declines in mining and quarrying (−8.7%) and manufacturing (−3.1%). All three main industrial groupings recorded lower turnover, with the steepest fall seen in capital goods industries.
At the annual level, industrial turnover declined by 3.8% in December. Meanwhile, the value of industrial stocks was 0.9% higher than a month earlier but 2.0% lower than a year before.
