Ministry: Vale SA to search for copper and gold in Kazakhstan.

Brazilian Vale SA, the world's largest iron ore producer, will explore for copper and gold in Kazakhstan together with Tau-Ken Samruk, Kazakhstan state-owned mining holding, Ministry of Industry and New Technologies has announced. Vale is going to explore the Balkhash and central areas of Kazakhstan. Tau-Ken Samruk is the metal and mining arm of Kazakh state investment company Samruk-Kazyna. The subsidiary was incorporated in 2009 to manage Kazakhstan's government holdings in metals. To remind you, in June the company created a 50/50 joint venture with Rio Tinto Group - major world mining company, to explore national gold, copper and other minerals in Kazakhstan.
