Lithuanian unemployment rate at 13.1% in Q1.

Lithuanian official unemployment rate stood at 13.1% in Q1, Statistics Lithuania announced, up by 0.1pp q/q. In Q1 there were 191,200 unemployed, up by 0.6% q/q. Male unemployment rate stood at 14.8%, up by 0.7pp y/y, while female stood at 11.4% declined by 0.5pp q/q. There were 107,600 unemployed males, and 83,700 unemployed females in Q1. Youth (15-24 years old) unemployment rate stood at 22.7% in Q1. Long-term unemployment rate stood at 5.9% in Q1, down by 0.1pp q/q. There were 1.27mn people employed in Q1, down by 0.4% q/q. In Q1/12 total unemployment stood at 14.5%, with youth unemployment at 28.2%, and long-term unemployment rate at 7.3%.
