Kazakhstan to expand capacity of Aktau seaport.

Kazakhstan decided to expand capacity of Aktau seaport to 16mn tons per annum from current 13.5mn tons, the minister of transport and communication Askar Zhumagaliyev has informed. He explained that the feasibility study of a new pier was being developed. At the same time, the minister explained that the decrease in cargo transshipments via the seaport last year was connected with oil export reorientation to pipelines (for more details refer to IntelliNews Kazakhstan Today posted on Feb 10).
