Israel is activating ground forces following a multi-front situational assessment after the joint US-Israel strike on Iran on February 28, the IDF confirmed.
Additionally, the IDF ordered the mobilisation of 70,000 reservists amid regional escalation, Ynet reported.
This comes after Israel announced a fresh barrage of missile strikes against Iran, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announcing the objective to bring down the Islamic regime in Iran.
Alongside preparations for potential Iranian retaliation, Israel conducted strikes against Hezbollah military targets in southern Lebanon, indicating continued operations on multiple fronts. The simultaneous activations across air, naval, and ground components suggest Israel is preparing for coordinated responses from Iranian-aligned forces across the region.
"In accordance with the multi-front situational assessment, the Operations Directorate has begun a large-scale reinforcement of ground forces across all sectors and regional commands, as well as the reinforcement and deployment of special forces, as part of strengthening readiness for various offensive and defensive scenarios," the IDF confirmed in a press statement.
"Significant reinforcements will be carried out in the Air Force and Navy, alongside the bolstering of all firepower arrays. The IDF continues to conduct ongoing situational assessments; any attempt to harm the State of Israel will be met with strength," the military added.
