An Estonian technology entrepreneur best known for building identity verification firm Veriff has launched a new artificial intelligence startup, Roleo, that aims to make traditional job applications obsolete, BNS, a Baltic news agency, and Estonia’s public broadcaster ERR.ee reported on January 19.

It offers technology specialists a personal AI agent that scans tens of thousands of vacancies on their behalf, identifying roles that match their experience and career preferences. The system also surfaces opportunities that never appear on conventional job boards.

Rather than requiring users to trawl through listings on LinkedIn or recruitment sites, Roleos AI agent tracks the market continuously and refines results through direct interaction with the user. Specialists can chat with the agent and provide feedback, gradually improving the accuracy of the search.

So far, Roleo has operated on an invitation only basis and is already used by nearly 500 specialists, including professionals with experience at Amazon, Google, Bolt and Wise. The company says some users have secured roles they would otherwise not have discovered.

The next step is to bypass applications entirely by directly connecting candidates and employers for interviews when a strong match is identified.

Roleo has attracted backing from executives with experience at Bolt, Veriff, Pipedrive and Wise, as well as venture funds Inventure and Lemonade Stand.

Roleo was founded by Janer Gorohhov, a Veriff co-founder and Y Combinator alumnus, together with Vahur Hansen, the founder of Membo and a former developer at Wise, BNS and ERR.ee said.
