Royal Bank of Scotland was the top M&A financial adviser on the Polish market in 2009, having advised in deals combined value of which amounted to USD 1,128mn, DealWatch (an M&A service belonging to - alongside news agency ISB and IntelliNews - to the Euromoney Group). Considering the number of deals, however, PricewaterhouseCoopers was the top M&A financial adviser in 2009 - it assisted in 6 transactions, the service added. Among the law firms, CMS Group was the top legal adviser on the Polish market in 2009, as it advised in deals worth USD 1,772mn in total. Again, when counting by the deal number - it was Weil, Gotshal & Manges who advised to the largest number of M&A deals in Poland in 2009 (13 transactions), it added. Regional perspective allows to note that JP Morgan Chase was the top M&A financial adviser in the Central and Eastern Europe region by deal value (USD 8,950mn), while Lazard and Co. was the top according to deal count. On the legal side, Cleary Gottlieb Steen&Hamilton carried out deals of the largest aggregate value (USD 8,043mn), while Havel & Holasek advised to the largest number of M&A transactions in 2009 (20 deals), DealWatch also reported.
