CPI inflation in Kazakhstan makes up 5.9% y/y in July.

CPI inflation in Kazakhstan made up 5.9% y/y in July which means no change in comparison to June and May in y/y terms, according to the State Stat Agency data. In m/m terms, inflation stood at 0.2% in July. In H1, inflation made up 6.4% y/y and 2.8% ytd.

Services had the largest impact on inflation as prices in this group went up by 10.3% y/y and by 0.3% m/m. Prices for food products increased by 4.5% y/y and by 0.1% m/m and for non-food products by 3.1% y/y and by 0.1% m/m. Among food products, growth was seen in prices for beet (1.8% m/m), rice (1.6% m/m), carrot (1.5% m/m) and potatoes (1.3% m/m). On the other hand, prices went down for tomatoes (12.3% m/m), pepper (12.1% m/m), cucumbers (11.5% m/m), cabbage (5.8% y/y) and eggs (3.7% m/m). In groups of services, prices increased for transportation (0.9% m/m) and healthcare (0.4% m/m) as well as for hot water and wastewater disposal (1.1% m/m).
