Bulgaria's Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) said it has awarded 20-year 5G frequency licences with national coverage to the three main telecommunication companies operating in the country.
The country will receive fees worth a combined BGN13.4mn for the frequencies.
A1 Bulgaria, a unit of A1 Telekom Austria Group, received a licence for using frequencies in the 3600-3700 MHz spectrum. It will pay a one-off fee of BGN4.7mn.
Bulgarian Telecommunications Company (BTC), owned by Dutch-registered United Group and operating under the Vivacom brand, won a licence for the 3700-3800 Mhz band, offering to pay a fee of BGN4.6mn.
Telenor Bulgaria, owned by Dutch-registered PPF Group, was awarded a licence for the 3500-3600 MHz band and will pay BGN4.1mn.
