Albanian Development Fund calls consultancy tender on secondary roads projects.

The Albanian Development Fund (ADF) has called a tender for the implementation of preparatory works on major project for secondary roads upgrade, according to a press release of the EBRD. The financial institution agreed to provide EUR 104mn fund for this purpose. The loan will be jointly granted by the EBRD and the EIB in equivalent parts. ADF aims to contract consultancy company or joint venture, which will be involved in preparation of detailed engineering designs, tender documents, environmental assessment and management plans, social assessment and resettlement action plans. The deadline for expression of interests expires on March 15. As noted, authorities envisaged an ambitious programme for upgrade of the road network. It foresees construction of some 1,000-1,500km of local roads, which is estimated to cost more than EUR 300mn. Apart form EIB and EBRD other international organization already approved financing to the program, including the Council of Europe Development Bank CEB (EUR 40mn), World Bank (EUR 13.6mn) and OPEC Fund for International Development (EUR 10.2mn).
