Airbus chief executive Tom Enders has been questioned by French anti-corruption investigators along with three fellow company executives as part of an investigation into the sale of satellites to Kazakhstan in 2010, Reuters reported on November 23. One of the other executives questioned was company chairman Denis Ranque. Both Enders and Ranque were interviewed in Nanterre in October.
Airbus has been facing scrutiny over its sales practices since US regulators were exposed to inaccurate filings by the aerospace giant over arms technology sales - the inaccuracies were uncovered by the company. Enders and the other three executives are not alleged to have played a role in the satellite deal.
“We have no comment to make other than that we are fully co-operating with authorities,” a spokesman for Airbus said.
The filing issues emerged on top of existing bribery investigations in France and Britain regarding the use of middlemen in jetliner sales.
