President Donald Trump told the United Nations General Assembly that US strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities had "demolished" the country's enrichment capacity on September 24.

In an hour-long rambling speech ranging from windmills, London Mayor Sadiq Khan, the escalator and teleprompter not working in the building, Trump predictively lashed out across the board, insulting many people along the way.

Trump hailed the June strikes on Iran's nuclear sites as evidence of US military strength, telling world leaders that seven B-2 stealth bombers dropped 14 bunker buster bombs weighing 30,000 pounds each.

He said "no other country on earth could have done what we [the US] did" and claimed the US was unmatched in terms of weaponry.

The American president described nuclear weapons as the most serious danger to the planet, warning that "if we ever use them, the world might literally come to an end."

He called for a "cessation of the development of nuclear weapons," saying he looked at weapons "so powerful that we can't ever use them."

Trump criticised the UN throughout his address, accusing the organisation of funding "an assault on western countries and their borders" through migration assistance.

He also claimed the UN "wasn't there for us" during what he depicted as successful US efforts to negotiate the end to conflicts, including the Israel-Iran war in June. He also said the UN was funding illegal immigration into Europe.

The US president attacked European allies' energy policies, describing renewable energy as "a joke" and claiming wind turbines are "pathetic and so bad, so expensive to operate."

Trump warned that migration policies would be "the death of western Europe," claiming western nations were being "overwhelmed" by immigrants with "different customs, religions, with different everything."

He also took credit for ending various conflicts, including wars between Congo and Rwanda, India and Pakistan, Azerbaijan and Armenia, and Israel and Iran, claiming the UN "did not even try to help in any of them."

Iranian officials have yet to officially respond to Trump's comment,s but are currently meeting with European officials in the same New York building, state media in Iran reported.

Earlier on September 22, Iranian media suggested a potential meeting between Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Trump was on the cards as part of Tehran's attempts to diffuse the tensions over the nuclear programme, IntelliNews previously reported.
