E.ON to merge gas, electricity distribution divisions in Romania.

Natural gas distribution firm E.ON Gaz Romania and electricity distributor E.ON Moldova Furnizare will merge to form an integrated utility E.ON Energie, Agerpres news agency reported quoting a company's press release. Specifically, the natural gas firm will take over the electricity distribution branch. Afterwards, E.ON Gaz will change its name to E.ON Energie to better reflect its new activity. The move has already been approved by the shareholders of the two companies, where German E.ON Group holds the majority stakes through E.ON Romania SRL.
