Slovakias annual industrial producer price inflation remained flat m/m at 2.0% in January, data from the statistics office showed. Industrial producer prices on the domestic market rose 3.1% y/y in January, down from a 3.9% yearly growth in December, while export producer prices growth accelerated to 1.4% y/y from 1%. Producer prices are a key preliminary indicator for the dynamics in consumer price inflation in the following month. On a monthly basis, producer prices moved 0.3% higher in January following a 0.3% decline in December. On the domestic market, prices rose 0.4% m/m after a 0.4% decline in the previous month, while export prices edged up 0.1% after falling 0.2% in December. Agricultural producer prices rose by 17.2% y/y in January, following a 16.2% growth in December, as the growth in crops prices speeded to 26% from 22.1% and the growth in producer prices of animal products advanced to 6.6% from 5.3%. Prices of construction works rose by 1% y/y in January and prices of construction materials and components increased by 0.3%.
