We disclose personal information to facilitate the running of our business or to provide specific services you have requested.
Service providers – We engage service providers who provide specific services, which is largely limited to sharing addresses with the printer for customers who have ordered a print copy of the bne magazine.
Institutional customers – If your subscription is provided by your employer or educational institution under a group subscription or trial, we will provide your employer or educational institution with information about your level of activity on the site for the purposes of billing.
Social media providers – Information will be shared with social media platforms where you log in to our Sites via a social media account, or use components on our Sites provided by social media platforms (e.g. the “Facebook Recommend” function).
Other users – Our Sites are publicly accessible and anyone around the world who accesses our Sites will be able to see anything you post, such as comments about an article. We encourage you to use a pseudonym when commenting on our Sites.
We retain the majority of your personal information for as long as your account is active.
If you account is inactive for four months your email will be removed from the automatic mail outs and marketing email blasts.
If you account is inactive for 12 months your contact and all its information will be deleted from our database.
We store our database of contact information with a third party service provider called Infusion Soft based in the USA, one of the largest provider of email marketing services in that country. All your information is encrypted and inaccessible to the open Internet.
If you buy a subscription it will automatically renew each year on the day you bought it with a 3% annual increase. You may cancel a subscription at any time, but your account will be charged unless you cancel one month or earlier before the date on which the subscription is due to renew. There are no refunds on subscription fees if only part of a subscription is used. bne IntelliNews reserves the right to increase the prices of subscriptions at any time, but in this case you will be given a warning at least one month in advance and the opportunity to cancel your subscription.
