Serbia's tourist numbers rise 0.7% y/y in Jan-May.

The number of tourists who visited Serbia in the first five months of the year rose an annual 0.7% to 785,140, the country's statistics office said in a statement. Tourist overnights over the period, however, declined 2.7% on the year to 2.4 million. The number of foreign tourists jumped 9.9% on the year to some 286,600 in Jan-May, while the number of their overnights climbed 15% to 650,500. Most of the foreign tourists came from Montenegro, Slovenia, Bosnia, Croatia, Italy and Germany. In May alone, the number of tourists fell 4% on the year to 243,800 as they spent 6% less overnights (671,000) in the country.
