Serbia's GDP growth accelerates to 3% in Q1 2011 - flash estimate.

Serbia's economy grew by 3% y/y in the first quarter of 2011 speeding up from 1.7% in the previous quarter, according to a flash estimate of the statistics office. We recall that the central bank forecast first-quarter GDP rise at 2.4%. IntelliNews comment : We note that the economy is expected to expand by 3% y/y in 2011 up from 1.8% last year, as this year's growth will be driven by a moderate recovery of domestic demand and continued increase in exports on the back of recovery of external demand.
