Montenegro's PM Milo Djukanovic said the country has not given up the Bar-Boljare motorway project, initialled six years ago but not yet launched, and might start its construction in the middle of 2013, Portalanalitika.me reported. Back in February 2007 the transport ministry and the World Bank signed a contract to cooperate on the project, estimated to cost EUR 2bn. The motorway will be the main transport link in the country and will connect its biggest Adriatic port of Bar with the border with Serbia. Portalanalitika.me quoted transport minister Ivan Brajovic as saying that negotiations on the project with China's CCCC, the consortium of US firm Bechtel and Turkey's Enka and with the EIB have been underway. He said that interest has been shown by other parties as well but only the talks with the above three entities have entered a final stage. Brajovic also expressed hope the project could be launched in the second half of 2013. |
