Kazakhstan sets up working group to recover Kyrgyzstan economy. Deputy PM Umirzak Shukeyev established a working group to implement a programme of economic recovery in Kyrgyzstan. Shukeyev also chairs the group. Setting up the group is a result of negotiations between Kyrgyz president Roza Otunbayeva and Kazakh leader Nursultan Nazarbayev on Jul 4 in Astana. Kyrgyzstan is setting up a similar group. The parties will hold a session of the groups as soon as possible to draft a specific action plan for the Kyrgyz economic rehabilitation. Kazakhstan as the chairman of the OSCE also plans to arrange an international donor conference to attract aid and create investment folder for Kyrgyzstan. Significantly, after a revolt in Kyrgyzstan in April and ethnic clashes in June, Kazakhstan is trying to step efforts to normalize situation. Astana however is focused on economic issues and as it was declared by president Nursultan Nazarbayev - does not plan to introduce its forces to the neighbouring country.
