Kazakhstan harvests record 29.7mn tones of grain this year.

Kazakhstan harvested 29.7mn tones of grain this year, according to the Agriculture Ministry. No data for harvest in clean weight was provided so far. The average yield was 1.85 tones of grain per 1 ha, in comparison to 0.9 tones from 1 ha in 2010. The harvest in clean weight is estimated at 22-23mn tones by agriculture minister Asylzhan Mamytbekov. In 2010, Kazakhstan harvested 12.2mn tones of grain as the crop was badly affected by drought. In 2009, harvest amounted to 20.8mn tones.
