By bne IntelliNews October 23, 2012
The upper chamber of Bosnias state-level parliament approved on Monday, Oct 22, the dismissal of two ministers and a deputy minister from the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), daily Nezavisne Novine reported. The proposal for the dismissal was approved by eight members of the 15-member chamber, while the remaining seven voted against it. The dismissal of the three SDA cabinet officials is purely political and was made via a proposal filed by Bosnian PM Vjekoslav Bevanda in June upon a request of the Social Democratic Party (SDP). SDP leader and Bosnian foreign minister Zlatko Lagumdzija has asked Bevanda to launch the replacement procedure after his party broke its political partnership with SDA and signed a deal with the Union for a Better Future (SBB) of politician and businessman Fahrudin Radoncic on June 1 to cooperate at all levels of governance in Bosnia. Under the decision, current security minister Sadik Ahmetovic, defence minister Muhamed Ibrahimovic and deputy finance minister Fuad Kasumovic will be replaced with officials from SDP-SBB. According to Nezavisne Novine, SBB leader and media mogul Fahrudin Radoncic will become the new security minister, Zekerijah Osmic (SDP) will be appointed for defence minister and Edit Djapo (SBB) for deputy finance minister.
