Bosnias Banja Luka signs EUR 17.9mn water supply system project.

Bosnias Banja Luka city has signed a BAM 35mn (EUR 17.9mn) contract with a consortium of Germanys Ludwig Pfeiffer and Bosnian firms Hidrokop and Niskogradnja, news agency ONASA reported. The project consists of two components, involving reconstruction and construction of the water supply system and sanitation and construction of wastewater drainage system. The project will expand the municipal water supply network by another 36 kilometres, will build two reservoirs, a pre-pump station and a booster station, as well as 25 kilometres of sewerage network. Construction works will start within a month and should be completed in 29 months. The city of Banja Luka participates in the project with EUR 0.6mn. The other sources of funding include a EUR 10mn loan from Germany's KfW Bank, a EUR 4mn donation from the German government and EU IPA funding of EUR 4.4mn.
