Bosnia's CA deficit has increased 2.1 times y/y to BAM 613.3mn (EUR 313.6mn) in Q2, according to data of the central bank. The surge in the CA deficit was caused mainly by a widening of the merchandise trade deficit, but the income and services accounts also deteriorated. The merchandise trade deficit increased by 16.2% y/y to BAM 1.85bn in Q2. The net inflow in the income account has decreased by 43.6% y/y to BAM 91.9mn in the second quarter. The net inflow in the services account edged down by 0.6% y/y to BAM 298.1mn in Q2. On the other hand, the net inflow in the current transfers account rose by 1.3% y/y to BAM 846.5mn. With regard to the performance in H1, the CA deficit has surged 2.4 times y/y to BAM 971.4mn. The merchandise trade deficit has risen by 18.2% y/y to BAM 3.25bn in H1. In addition the net inflow in the income account has dropped by 28.2% y/y to BAM 193.7mn in H1, and the net inflow in the services account has decreased by 6.8% y/y to BAM 478.1mn. On the other hand, the net inflow from current transfers has risen by 2.8% y/y to BAM 1.61bn in the first half of this year. |
