42% of Internet users in Slovakia use social networks.

Some 42% of Internet users in Slovakia use social networks every day, SITA news agency reported citing a survey by heureka.sk portal. About 35% of the users visit the social network occasionally and 23% do not have an account or are not familiar with the term social network. Women are more frequent users with 51% of the female respondents visiting a social network at least several times a week. Only 34% of men do that. At the same time 17% of women and 28% of men do not have a social network account. Marek Brumlich, project manager of heureka.sk, said that a form of social networking is sharing experience with online shopping and comparing products on independent Internet sites. About 41% of the users that purchased things online almost always share their experience while 31% do that only if the experience was particularly good or bad.
