Value of restaurant receipts increased 5.8% y/y in Q2/2011.

Hong Kong's value of restaurant sector total receipts increased 5.8% y/y recording HKD 21.2bn in the second quarter of this year. As reported by News.gov.hk, according to the data released by the Census & Statistics Department, the volume of total restaurant receipts, after netting the effect of price changes, grew by 0.6% during the period. The value of total purchases by restaurants grew by 11.1% reaching HKD 7.8bn during the period. The total receipts of Chinese restaurants increased 7.2% in value, and it grew 2.1% in volume, during the period.
